These bikes were purchased after finding a bulletin board ad at the Antique Motorcycle Club of America Brookfield meet in August 1996. I brought them home and within one week I had them both running. I wanted to show offf that they were running to the former owner at the next AMCA meet at Lakeport the next week but it rained all weekend. The blue bike is very original and has a worn engine as you can see by the photo. The red bike's engine is running very well and had recently got new piston rings. The best part of this is that the engines were swapped at one time, so the good engine goes in the blue bike, which is the one I would rather restore.
Day after purchase 8/30/96
One week later - - - 1967 Triumph Mosquito Fogger
I rode this on local trails a few times that summer.
The correct fender installed.
The bikes were disassembled and sat in my basement for a few years. This spring I began work again. The picture shows frame and parts painted. The forks are now assembled and attached to the frame. The seat has been recovered and I have most of the parts I need to get it running. What I need most is time. I'll try to get some more done in between painting the house and all the other projects.
October 19,'02 - I have started to work on it again. The frame is attached to a wood stand that I made. The forks are finished except to paint and install the gaiter clips. Also the rear frame section, swingarm, passenger footpeg brackets, which all bolt on together have been added.
I discovered that the front fender is not correct, but I do have the right fender in the garage.
November 2003 - The toolbox and coil have been mounted and now I am working on cleaning and polishing the engine. I will have to repair the cylinder head because of broken fins.
